As the Communications Manager for Hamilton County Schools, I have the privilege of sharing the incredible work of our students, staff, and community. Through the power of storytelling, social media, and more, I strive to showcase the positive impact our district has on the lives of those we serve. I aim to create a strong, positive brand perception within the area.

  • Create annual marketing and communications plans for the Communications Team

  • Manage district communications team of five full-time employees, both project management and people management, including web, graphic design, video, photo, social media, and more

  • Research and implement department cross-training and professional development opportunities

Communications Specialist

Hamilton County Schools 

In this role, I worked as the lead copywriter for HCS. This role included hands on creation of press releases, social media content, newsletters, website content, and video scripts. Through this work, I developed a love for serving my community and showing Hamilton County the great work of public education.

  • Manage and create content for district social media accounts; increased all platform engagement, including growing Facebook following by 5% in 4 months

  • Craft staff and community newsletters distributed to more than 30,000 individuals with a 51.2% open rate and 2.76% click-through rate

  • Created HCS Communications support request form, feedback survey, and policies guide to improve department workflow and efficiency

  • Write press releases, talking points, presentations, and more to support communications functions

  • Research and report department metrics to district leadership

  • Manage constituent services email inbox

  • Attend regular meetings with Family and Community Engagement to support community initiatives and ensure proactive collaboration
